Navigation in the
Lakes

We have been asked by a number of members to put on a navigation
course so here we are:-
Martin who will be running these sessions has 25 years experience
of mountain marathons and adventure racing, and works full time in
the outdoor industry, he will tailor these days to suit your needs.
So enjoy a day in the mountains while learning the art of navigation.
Day 1
Introduction to basic navigation and an ideal day for novices or
those who need to brush up their skills, with real life example enjoy
navigating around the Lake District fells under the watchful eye
of Martin. This should then give you the confidence to get out on
the hills more yourself. Come prepared for a day on the hills. The
day is flexible to cater for your needs and Martin will be more than
happy to incorporate your navigation requirements into this day.
Day 2
Advanced navigation from pacing to micro navigation, for those that
have been on day 1 or have some experience with maps and compass.
Have a fun day out on the fells learning the skills needed to enjoy
our UK mountains. Again talk to Martin and he will be able to tailor
the day to your needs.

Guided Mountain Walk in the
Lakes
Date: Contact Martin to arrange
Cost: £15
Location: Southern Lake District
Martin who will be running these sessions has 25 years experience
of
mountains from mountain marathons and adventure racing, and works full time
in the outdoor industry.
This is not a couple of mile ramble with a pub at lunch time and
a large
group. The day is designed for anyone wanting to explore the Lakeland fells
and is happy doing 10 to 15 miles, so come prepared for a day on the hills
whatever the weather. Im sure at the end of the day Martin will find a
suitable pub. If there is demand Martin can do another day so you can get 2
good days walking in the Lakes, contact Martin direct to discuss dates and
venues.

Rock and Ramble

Why not try climbing and gentle walking in the beautiful Peak District.
The climbing is of various grades all with the aim of getting you
to the top and not frustrating you on the way up. After admiring
the views on the climb we can then ramble our way through the countryside
taking in some Peak treasures on the way.

Boots and Beer

What a great combination, why not don your boots and wander around
the the best parts of the Peak District. Be guided by photographs,
clues and quizzes to make sure you all end up at the correct place.
Enjoy a pub lunch, solve more clues to get the correct details
for the way back to the start.

Ropes Adventure

Canoe Trip in the Scottish
Borders
Date: 13th – 16th June
Cost: £250 (Including lunch on all days, excluding B&B)
Location: Scottish Borders
Experience required: None
Equipment required: No specialist gear
Time: 2/3 days over bank Holiday
Numbers: limited to 10
Slowly meander down the River Tweed in the Scottish borders. This
2/3-day trip takes in some wonderful scenery with very gently
paddling in crystal clear waters. Stay in a local B&B and enjoy
the local hospitality and refresh your batteries for the following
days paddling.

White Water Kayaking for Beginners

It’s an Olympic sport could you be the next big thing? Have
you seen the white water kayakers plunging through the spray? Well
they all started somewhere. Try this great sport in a beginner’s
white water heaven. There are lots of great little skills to learn
and practice in this safe environment.

White Water Weekend Away
Date:19th 20th April
Cost: £100 (Including Accom)
Location: North Yorks
Experience required: Confident flat-water kayaker with some river
experience, confident swimmer
Equipment required: No specialist gear, bring swimming gear, towel etc.
Time: All day (9.30-4.30 ish????)
Numbers: limited to10
Travel to North Yorkshire and Kayak on two or more rivers in the
area, stay locally and exchange stories over a pint. If time
allows maybe take in a
local brewery tour. In the day time we can choose from a variety of rivers
in the area and either journey our way down of stop of and practice those

Powerboat Courses

Would you like to drive a powerboat have fun, be safe and come out
of the weekend with a qualification. Why not try a Royal Yachting
Association National Powerboat Scheme.
Level 1 for complete beginners and Level 2 for those with some driving
experience.
